MOSCOW, February 5. /TASS/. Judicial District No. 422 of the Tagansky District Court of Moscow imposed an administrative fine of 2 mln rubles ($20,407) on Discord for refusing to fulfill its obligations to localize the personal data of Russians, the court told TASS.
"Judicial District No. 422 found the Discord platform guilty under Part 8 of Article 13.11 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation (violation of the legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of personal data) and ordered an administrative fine of 2 mln rubles," the court said.
Earlier, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor), blocked Discord in Russia on October 8, 2024, for violating legal requirements.
The social network Discord was created in 2015, initially it was a platform for gamers.
