Russian first deputy PM says growth of LNG, coal supplies to India possible

Russian companies also have necessary expertise for participation in the creation of traditional power generation facilities, from provision of engineering services to supplies of advanced equipment, Denis Manturov noted

NEW DELHI, November 12. /TASS/. Russia sees opportunities for growth of supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and coal to India and links a potential increase in trade turnover between the two countries with it, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said at a plenary meeting of the Russian-Indian intergovernmental commission.

"We have boosted shipments of demanded fuel types, including crude oil and petroleum products. We link a further potential increase in trade turnover with supplies of LNG, thermal and coking coal," he said.

Russian companies also have necessary expertise for participation in the creation of traditional power generation facilities, from provision of engineering services to supplies of advanced equipment, Manturov added.

Earlier, First Deputy Prime Minister said that Moscow is interested in organizing long-term deliveries of LNG and coal to India.
