Food delivery by drones can appear after 2025 — Russian Ministry of Industry

It is noted that the ministry plans to work out statutory regulation of drones use over this year in cooperation with the ministry of transport and the federal air transport service

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. The service of goods and food delivery by drones can go live in Russia in 2025-2030, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Vasily Osmakov said on Friday on the air with the Sputnik radio station.

"This is already been done in technical terms [delivery by drones - TASS], while this require additional formalization in legal terms because Moscow is a challenging city in general from the standpoint of flights and all these things," the official said. "In between," Osmakov noted, replying to a question whether such service becomes available in 2025 or 2030.

The ministry plans to work out statutory regulation of drones use over this year in cooperation with the ministry of transport and the federal air transport service, the official informed. "This is because there are restrictions by height, restrictions for the procedure of receiving a permit to fly," Osmakov said. Statutory regulation "is generally the key matter for the normal use of drones in the country," he added.
