Russian rhythmic gymnasts return to World Championships after five seasons

The national team will compete in Frankfurt am Main

BERLIN, August 12. /TASS/. The Russian rhythmic gymnastics team will compete at the World Championships in Frankfurt am Main for the first time since 2021, when they won seven gold medals in Kitakyushu.

The 2026 championships will be the last where Russian athletes compete without flag and anthem.

The team includes individual gymnasts Maria Borisova and Sofia Ilteryakova, who medaled at the European Championships in May. The group exercises will feature six gymnasts.

The competition runs August 12-16, with qualification today, individual all-around finals on August 14, group all-around on August 15, and apparatus finals on August 16.
