MOSCOW, January 19. /TASS/. Russia’s Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media will submit documents on sale of VimpelCom by Veon holding to the Russian management for consideration of the government commission on foreign investment this week, Minister Maksut Shadayev told reporters on Thursday.
"We will submit all files this week. We support [the deal]. We have completed the analysis," he said when asked when the deal on sale of the mobile operator to the Russian management would be submitted to the government commission.
The senior management of Beeline, headed by CEO Alexander Torbakhov, entered into an agreement to buy Vimpelcom from the Dutch telecom holding Veon, at the end of November 2022, the Russian mobile operator said in a statement earlier.
Veon will get 130 bln rubles ($2.2 bln) from the asset sale under the agreement. The deal is expected to be completed by June 1, 2023 at the latest, with the parties reserving the right to extend the deadline in case the required licenses and permits for regulators are not received, Beeline said.
