MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. The Russian government has imposed a ban on the export of previously imported cars and other motor vehicles designed to transport people, including vans and racing cars. This measure is valid until December 31, 2022, according to the ruling published on the Cabinet’s website.
However, the ban does not apply to motor vehicles designed to carry 10 people or more.
The ban also applies to passenger and cargo ships and yachts, aircraft and drones.
On Thursday, the Cabinet’s press service reported that the government had determined a list of goods and equipment previously imported into Russia, which are temporarily prohibited from being exported from the country. In total, it includes more than 200 items of goods, technological, telecommunications, medical equipment, vehicles, agricultural machinery, and electrical equipment.
The Cabinet stressed that "the export of these goods is temporarily limited to all foreign countries," with the exception of the states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
Permits for the export of goods to the EAEU countries, Abkhazia and South Ossetia will be issued by the Agriculture Ministry, the Transport Ministry, the Industry and Trade Ministry, the Digital Development Ministry and the Natural Resources Ministry, the Cabinet noted.
On March 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed by his decree to limit or prohibit in 2022 the export of certain products and raw materials from the country and their import into it according to the lists that the government was supposed to make. However, it was noted that the measures do not apply to goods citizens transport for personal use.
