MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. The first round of negotiations between Russia and Egypt on supplies of equipment from the Mistral helicopter carriers came to an end last week, a source in the sphere of military-technical cooperation told TASS.
- Egypt may increase order of Russian Ka-52 type helicopters to 80 — source
- Russia ready to supply helicopters for Mistral warships to Egypt — official
- Egypt made no request for purchase of helicopters for Mistrals — Russian arms exporter
- French manufacturer to leave Egypt-selected Russian equipment on Mistrals — source
"The first round of talks completed last week, so far it’s just an exchange of views. However, our Egyptian partners have an interest in the individual units," the source said.
According to him, the issues of the delivery of the equipment will be resolved only after all matters related to the sale of the Kamov Ka-52K helicopters, a version of the Ka-52 Alligator, to Egypt are settled.
A spokesman for the Joint Instrument-Making Corporation, which is part of the Rostec corporation that developed the equipment for the Mistral warships built for Russia, told TASS that Egypt would not be able to receive all Russian equipment for the helicopter carriers for security reasons. Nevertheless, "we have something to offer our partners," he noted.
