Land phase of Russian-Indian Indra 2026 exercise over in Chelyabinsk Region

Assault troops, supported by FPV interceptors, mobile armed units, air defense systems, and tank crews, inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy, captured its positions, and liberated the settlement

MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. The land phase of the joint Russian-Indian military exercise Indra 2026 has concluded at a training ground in the Chelyabinsk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

"The land phase of the Indra 2026 maneuvers concluded with a combat rehearsal at a training ground of the Central Military District in the Chelyabinsk Region. According to the exercise scenario, a simulated enemy had occupied a settlement and established strongpoints there," the statement said.

During the combat rehearsal, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and ground robotic systems crews conducted aerial reconnaissance of enemy positions. Artillery units, in coordination with attack UAVs, struck detected concentrations of enemy personnel, weapons, command and observation posts, and supply depots, creating favorable conditions for offensive operations by Russian and Indian assault groups.

Assault troops, supported by FPV interceptors, mobile armed units, air defense systems, and tank crews, inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy, captured its positions, and liberated the settlement.

During the pursuit of the enemy, Russian and Indian troops destroyed the remaining personnel and equipment of the simulated enemy, thereby concluding the combat rehearsal of the Indra 2026 drills’ land phase.

Afterward, a formal closing ceremony for the land phase of the joint exercise was held on the field camp’s parade ground.
