Minsk, Moscow collaborating on new reconnaissance satellite — Belarusian president

"The platform is almost ready," Alexander Lukashenko said

MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Minsk and Moscow are developing a new ultra-high-resolution satellite, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko declared.

"Work is underway on a new satellite with an ultra-high resolution of up to 35 centimeters. The components are ours, and the platform is yours. The platform is almost ready," he said, addressing Russia’s Federation Council (upper house of parliament).

In this regard, Lukashenko noted that "a Russian-Belarusian spacecraft within a constellation of satellites for remote sensing of the Earth" has already been "developed and is in operation," but "the frontline conflict with Ukraine has shown that this is insufficient."
