MOSCOW, June 8 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian Defence Ministry has successfully test fired the Topol intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICMB).
Spokesman for the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) Colonel Vadim Koval said that the missile was launched (on June 7) from the Kapustin Yar range in the Astrakhan Region and with the required accuracy hit the hypothetical target in Kazakhstan. According to him, the Echo of Moscow radio station reported, the tasks of the test launch have been fulfilled.
The Topol missile system is Russia’s mobile strategic missile system. It forms the basis of the RVSN grouping.
