KIEV, January 19. /TASS/. Around 300 settlements in Ukraine have been left without electricity due to bad weather conditions, State Emergency Service’s press service said on Tuesday.
"A total of 284 settlements remain without electricity in eight regions: 102 in the Kherson Region, 69 in the Nikolaev Region, 38 in the Odessa Region, 32 in the Dnipropetrovsk Region, 18 in the Kirovograd Region, 11 in the Sumy Region, nine in the Cherkassk Region and five in the Kiev Region," the press service said.
Specialists from utility companies are carrying out works on resuming electricity supply to the regions that were left without power overnight to January 18 because of strong gusts of wind and heavy snowfall that damaged electric power lines.
On Monday, January 17, Ukrainian Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Communal Services Gennady Zubko tasked the Energy Ministry with restoring electricity supply to all settlements in the country in the following 24 hours.
