WASHINGTON, January 23. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has picked Andrew Puzder, former CKE Restaurants, Inc. CEO, for the US Permanent Representative to the European Union.

"I am pleased to announce that Andrew F. Puzder will serve as the next United States Ambassador to the European Union. Andy is a successful attorney, businessman, economic commentator, and author," he wrote on his Truth Social network.

In 2000, Puzder, 74, was appointed Chief Executive Officer of CKE Restaurants, Inc., parent company of international restaurant chains Carl’s Jr and Hardee’s. "During his 17 year tenure as CEO, Andy led the company out of serious financial difficulty, allowing it to survive, become financially secure, and grow," Trump noted. "Andy will do an excellent job representing our Nation’s interests in this important region.".
