MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. Russia's Federal Security Service has arrested an employee of one of the country's regulatory agencies on charges of state treason, the agency's press office told TASS.
"An employee from the central office of one of Russia's regulatory agencies has been taken into custody on suspicion of treason," the press office stated.
According to investigators, he established secret cooperation with the Ukrainian side to aid in actions against Russia's security. "In 2024, the detainee actively shared information with the Ukrainian side regarding the protection of industrial and energy facilities located in Russia's border regions, as well as the locations of Russian military units' deployment," Russia's Federal Security Service added.
The Investigative Department of Russia's Federal Security Service has initiated a criminal case under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (state treason). The detainee has been placed under arrest.
Investigative activities are ongoing, the Russia's Federal Security Service concluded.
