HAIKOU /China/, Oct. 5. /TASS/. South China's Hainan province is holding a series of holiday events and activities during the nationwide holiday marking the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the PRC, which lasts a full week in China - from October 1 to 7. According to the Hainan Daily newspaper, in order to revive tourism, many attractions on the island are offering vacationers large discounts.
For example, tickets for visiting landsmarks and parks in the resort town of Sanya, as well as a famous diving base on Wuzhizhou Island, which is located just a few kilometers off the coast, can be purchased at prices equivalent to 80%, 60% or even 50% of the original cost. Local hotels also offer great discounts. As for restaurants, they presented special holiday menus for almost every taste on the occasion of the holiday.
With the help of the regional Department of Tourism, Culture, Broadcasting and Sports many tourist sites in Hainan hold recreational activities that promote surfing, sailing and offer exciting trips to remote parts of the island covered in tropical plants where visitors can witness the life of autochthonous minorities.
The province has paid special attention to cultural and entertainment activities aimed at encouraging consumption. For example, there are musical performances on the beaches, programs for parents with small children and those who love shopping.
All these activities are carried out with all necessary anti-epidemic measures, the provincial tourism office commented. It is assumed that the efforts of the authorities and tourism companies will attract more tourists to Hainan. The increase in tourist flow in the province over the past two months has been hampered by a local outbreak of coronavirus, which has been successfully dealt with.
