Over 600 protesters detained in Moscow for participating in unsanctioned rally-commission

MOSCOW, January 23. /TASS/. More than 600 people have been detained for participating in the Saturday unauthorized rally in downtown Moscow, Ivan Melnikov, the executive secretary of Moscow’s Public Monitoring Commission, told reporters.

"As of now, over 600 people have been detained in Moscow, according to unverified reports," he said.

According to Melnikov, they were taken to police stations in different districts.

The Moscow police department has estimated that about 4,000 people attended the unsanctioned rally on Pushkin Square on Saturday.
