MOSCOW, May 16. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has discussed the Middle East crisis and the situation around Iran during a telephone conversation with UAE Leader Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan.

"Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Issues related to the crisis situation in the Middle East and around Iran were discussed," the Kremlin said in a statement.

Both sides reportedly noted the importance of continuing the political and diplomatic process to work out compromise peace agreements "with due regard for the interests of all states in the region.".
