GENICHESK, February 26. /TASS/. Troops of Russia’s 15th Motorized Infantry Brigade destroyed an US-made Abrams tank, reinforced with reactive armor, Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo announced.

"Fighters of the 15ht Motorized Infantry Brigade destroyed a US-made Abrams tank in the Avdeyevka area. After the Pentagon ‘strategists’ saw Leopard bonfires on the Zaporozhye front, they withdrew all 30 tanks, shipped to the Ukrainian regime, for upgrades. They were equipped with reactive armor and sent back. But that didn’t help," Saldo said on his Telegram channel.

According to Saldo, the Abrams tank was detected by a reconnaissance drone and during its first combat mission subsequently destroyed during its first combat mission.

On February 25, DPR head’s advisor Igor Kimakovsky told TASS that Abrams tanks have been spotted at the frontline near Avdeyevka for the first time.
