Russian envoy says OPCW disregards evidence pointing to false flag in Ukraine

That’s vividly exemplified, the diplomat said, by "the formulated and persistent chemical threat in Ukraine"

THE HAGUE, November 28. /TASS/. Alexander Shulgin, Russia’s envoy to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, has said some members of the group disregard objective data about chemical provocations in Ukraine, according to his speech at the 27th Conference of the States Parties that opened on Monday.

"Some countries have moved to steady efforts to erode the organization’s mandate, impose decisions that go beyond its boundaries, push for punitive functions that are not characteristic of the OPCW and openly subvert some other members," he said in the speech, a copy of which has been obtained by TASS.

That’s vividly exemplified, the diplomat said, by "the formulated and persistent chemical threat in Ukraine."

Shulgin said the Russian Defense Ministry has been warning since December of 2021 about the possibility of chemical provocations by Ukrainian military formations and has recorded facts of their use of chemically hazardous substances for military purposes.

"The Russian Federation, through its permanent mission to the OPCW, regularly brings such data to the attention of the director general of the Technical Secretariat," he stressed. "To our great regret, some of our warnings have come true. Statements about the lack of evidence or the contrived nature of our statements don’t hold any water. The only logical explanation for such flagrant disregard for objective data is that it’s part of an intentional information war," he maintained.
