Russia to respond to France’s ban on three Russian TV channels, Foreign Ministry says

According to Maria Zakharova, Rossiya 24, RTR Planeta, and TV Tsentr were included in the latest round of the European Union sanctions, but France chose to cut them off even before the EU decision came into force

MOSCOW, June 8. /TASS/. Russia will respond to France’s decision to cut off three Russian TV channels, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

Rossiya 24, RTR Planeta, and TV Tsentr were included in the latest round of the European Union sanctions, but France chose to cut them off even before the EU decision came into force, Zakharova said. "We are certainly studying options of response to these unfriendly acts," the diplomat said.

"This is a characteristic symptom of the rapidly progressing disease of the Western neoliberal model of democracy," which is doing away with prior achievements and destroying values, Zakharova said.
