Russian ombudswoman requests assistance from ICRC over POWs in Ukraine

Tatiana Moskalkova turned to President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer with a request to provide information about Russian POWs and to help visit them

MOSCOW, May 23. /TASS/. Russia’s human rights commissioner has requested information about Russian prisoners of war from the International Committee of the Red Cross, the ombudswoman said on her Telegram channel.

"I have again turned to President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer with a request to provide information about Russian POWs and to help me or my representatives visit them," Tatiana Moskalkova said.

"I do hope my new request will not go unheeded," Moskalkova said. "Otherwise, I’d hate to realize that like many other international institutions the respected organization (the ICRC - TASS) has forsaken the universal principles of humanity to apply double standards to our prisoners of war".
