Dutch Charge d'Affaires summoned to Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry, protest expressed

The protest was expressed in connection with illegal commercial activities on the territory of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in St. Petersburg

MOSCOW, May 12. /TASS/. Dutch Charge d’Affaires in Moscow Martijn Elgersma has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry and strongly protested because of commercial activities on the territory of the Consulate General in St. Petersburg, a statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry distributed on Thursday stated.

"On May 12, Martijn Elgersma, Charge d'Affaires of the Netherlands in Russia, was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry and was strongly protested in connection with illegal commercial activities on the territory of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in St. Petersburg," the ministry said.

"Elgersma was pointed out to the inadmissibility of using consular premises for purposes incompatible with the performance of consular functions, as well as the need to take exhaustive measures to prevent violations of the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
