MOSCOW, May 16. /TASS/. Negotiations are continuing with the participation of the IAEA on a temporary silence regime at the end of May to repair the damaged transmission poles feeding the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev told reporters.
"For more than two months, the station has been powered by only one line instead of two. During this time, we have repeatedly encountered situations of complete de-energization of the nuclear power plant and the launch of backup or, in other words, emergency diesel generators. Negotiations are currently underway with the participation of the IAEA, the purpose of which is to establish a temporary silence regime necessary to repair the damaged transmission towers. We expect that the repair work can begin at the very end of May," the Rosatom CEO said.
