Russia to commission 20 GW of renewable capacity by 2035 — Novak

The total installed capacity of renewable energy sources in Russia amounts to 6 GW at present

MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. About 20 GW of renewable energy sources’ capacity is planned fr commissioning in Russia by 2035, according to the presentation to the report by Deputy Prime Alexander Novak at the Russia Expo international forum.

"We set the task for ourselves for the period by 2035 to achieve the level of 20,000 MW, increase the share in our energy balance, and make it cleaner," Novak said.

The total installed capacity of renewable energy sources in Russia amounts to 6 GW at present, including 2.2 GW of the total capacity of seventy solar power plants and 2.5 GW of the total capacity of twenty-six wind farms.
