Putin expects prompt results on abolition of foreign-made data protection means in Russia

NOVO-OGARYOVO, May 20. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the government to ensure rapid introduction of domestic technologies, because use of foreign-made data protection means will be banned in 2025.

Speaking at the Security Council meeting Friday, the head of state noted that "the use of foreign data protection means will be banned completely in 2025."

"Therefore, in order to reinforce our technological sovereignty, the government must create a modern Russian electronic components base in the shortest term," Putin said. "We have been talking about for a long time, we work most actively on this, and I hope that the result will be achieved shortly."

"It is necessary to develop and introduce our own technological equipment, including one necessary for production of software-hardware complexes," the head of state said. According to Putin, "it is necessary to widely engage instruments and resources of the ‘Digital economy’ national program here".
