Google Play suspends sales in Russia

Users will only be able to use free content

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Google has announced that it is restricting sales in its Play Market for users in Russia, now users will only be able to use free content, Google website reported.

"Due to payment system disruption, we will be pausing Google Play’s billing system for users in Russia in the coming days. This means users will not be able to purchase apps and games, make subscription payments or conduct any in-app purchases of digital goods using Google Play in Russia," the company said in a statement.

For existing paid subscriptions, the next payment will not be processed, the company explained. Once the subscription period expires, users will lose access to the subscription. If the subscription offers a grace period, access will remain until it expires.

Access to previously purchased apps will remain, but users could face access restrictions to previously purchased apps and content due to interruptions by service providers.

Pre-orders with a delivery deadline after the Play payment system is suspended will not be fulfilled, and all money on it will be returned to users.
