KALININGRAD, March 25. /TASS/. The crew of the multipurpose diesel-electric submarine The Mozhaisk has performed deep dives in the Baltic Sea while practicing combat training tasks, the Baltic Fleet’s press service has said.
"The crew of The Mozhaisk submarine practiced tasks in the Baltic Sea at various depths, up to 190 meters," the news release said.
The crew checked the operation of all systems and mechanisms, practiced the algorithm of controlling the vessel at depths and various methods of surfacing.
Upon completing the underwater part of the exercise The Mozhaisk surfaced and continued to carry out activities in accordance with the fleet’s combat training plan.
The Mozhaisk is a multipurpose diesel-electric submarine of Project 636.3 Varshavyanka, the eleventh in the series. The project was developed by the Rubin Central Design Bureau for Marine Engineering. The submarine is designed to combat enemy submarines and ships, defend naval bases, and coastal and sea links and routes, and carry out reconnaissance and patrolling along the enemy’s shipping routes.
