Ukraine's broadcasting committee demands Russians arts professionals to be removed from TV

The Russian arts personalities whom the Ministry of Culture has placed on a list of personas non grata should not appear in the Ukrainian information space

KIEV, October 31. /TASS/. A high-ranking official of Ukraine's State Committee for Radio and TV Broadcasting has issued a demand that the Ukrainian TV channels remove a number of Russian arts professionals from their programs.

Bogdan Chervak, the director of the committee's department for information policies said the Russian arts personalities, whom the Ministry of Culture has placed on a list of personas non grata "should not appear in the Ukrainian information space."

Ukrainian Security Service said earlier this week it had drafted a list of “hundreds of individuals” in the world of Russian culture and arts “whose involvement in politics (…) has finished off their creative and cultural relations with Ukraine.” They will not be allowed to enter the Ukrainian territory, the spokesman for the service, Markiyan Lubkivsky said.

Earlier on Friday, the ICTV channel said it had taken off the air the Russian series "The Agent of National Security" starring one of the top-rated Russian screen and stage actors, Mikhail Porechenkov.
