RIO DE JANEIRO, August 10. /TASS/. At least one person was killed and 10 injured in an earthquake in Colombia’s Choco Department, while another three people are missing, El Espectador newspaper reported, citing the regional office of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management.
The agency also reported serious infrastructure damage in Quibdo, the department’s administrative center. Footage circulating on social media shows that several residential buildings and other structures have collapsed in the city.
Local authorities are continuing to assess the condition of buildings and verify reports on the consequences of the natural disaster in various municipalities across the region.
