CAIRO, November 18. /TASS/. At least 76 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, with some 160 others being wounded, the Palestinian enclave’s health ministry wrote on its Telegram channel.

"Over the past day, 76 people have been killed in Gaza, and 158 others have been injured," the ministry said in a document. According to it, since October 2023, the death toll from the Israeli aggression in Gaza has climbed to 43,922, while the overall number of those wounded has increased to 103,898.

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7, 2023 after militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise incursion on Israeli territory, killing many Israeli kibbutz residents living near the Gaza border and abducting more than 240 Israelis, including women, children and the elderly. In response, Israel launched a military operation in the enclave to destroy Hamas’ military and political leaders and release all hostages. The hostilities in the Gaza Strip are ongoing.
