MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries have begun drafting a concept for military cooperation through 2030 in response to the worsening global situation, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev announced during a meeting of CIS security council secretaries in Moscow.
"We are experiencing a challenging period of transformation in the world order. New and renewed armed conflicts have emerged, while bloc and interstate confrontations have escalated significantly. All this stems from the global dominance of the United States and NATO. In the current climate, strengthening cooperation in military security is a crucial stabilizing factor. Within the CIS, we are beginning to draft a concept for military cooperation through 2030, which will define clear priorities and new benchmarks for collaboration," he stated.
Lebedev added that the CIS believes the "combat and tactical training of the armed forces" of member countries "should be based on mutual enrichment through shared practical experience and scientific advancements."
