SOFIA, April 3. /TASS/. The Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) political party in coalition with the Union of Democratic Forces took the lead in Bulgaria’s snap parliamentary elections after processing 51.77% of ballots on Monday.
As of 5:00 a.m. (same time as Moscow’s), according to the website of the Central Election Committee, the bloc garnered 25.29% of the vote, the coalition bloc We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria scored 24.84%, the Revival party got 14.96%, followed by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms with 13.55% and the Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria coalition with 8.84%. Other political associations have not yet passed the electoral threshold. The vote counting process is underway and its results may change.
Bulgaria held the early parliamentary elections on Sunday without any serious violations. The representatives of 14 parties and seven coalitions vied for 240 seats in the National Assembly.
