ANKARA, January 16. /TASS/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey’s readiness to act as a mediator in the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis during a phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
"During the negotiations, President Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey’s readiness to act as a mediator and intermediary in the establishment of a stable peace between Russia and Ukraine," Erdogan’s administration said after the phone call between the two presidents on Monday.
The two leaders also discussed the recent events around Ukraine, the administration said.
Previously, Erdogan repeatedly offered Turkey as a platform for negotiations between the presidents of Russia and Ukraine.
