SOCHI, February 14. /TASS/. Iran, Turkey and Russia respect the territorial integrity of Syria and think that all its citizens, including the Kurds, must decide the future of their country, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday on the outcomes of the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"It is important to let Syrians make decisions about their future… Kurds are also an indispensable part of Syria. Syria is one nation, not two," he stressed.
"We all respect the territorial integrity of Syria, which we have reiterated during today’s meeting," the Iranian leader added. He pointed out that the sides must also ensure the security of Syria’s neighboring countries, including Turkey.
Rouhani expressed his concern that after the withdrawal of US troops from Syria, the United States will continue to meddle in the domestic affairs of the country. "All Syrian territory must be under united control of the legitimate Syrian government," he said.
On February 14, the fourth summit between Russia, Turkey and Iran on Syrian regulation took place in Sochi. The sides discussed the situation in the Idlib province and the planned withdrawal of US troops from the country.
