Freestyle skier wins Olympic gold and puts Belarus over Russia in medal count

SOCHI, February 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Belarusian freestyle skier Alla Tsuper on Friday won the Olympic gold medal in ladies’ aerials at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, having scored 98.01 points.

Belarus now has three gold medals, while Russia only has two.

Belorussian biathlete Darya Domracheva won gold medals in women’s 10 km pursuit on Feb. 11 and in 15 km individual race today.

Chinese freestyle skier Mengtao Xu won the silver medal (83.50), and Lydia Lassila of Australia won the bronze medal (72.12).

Russian freestyle skiers Veronika Korsunova and Assol Slivets have failed to qualify for final 2 in ladies’ aerials. Korsunova took the 11th position, having scored 68.35 points, and Slivets was 12th with 62.30 points.
