DONETSK, November 18. /TASS/. More than 100 air attacks by the Ukrainian army have been countered by electronic warfare systems in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) over the past week, the regional FSB directorate said.
"Over the past week, the Donbass Dome air defense and electronic warfare system has detected and intercepted 103 enemy unmanned aerial vehicles over Donetsk and Makeyevka," it noted in a statement.
For instance, in Donetsk’s Kirovsky District, a Ukrainian terrorist plot to blow up a civilian fuel depot was foiled. Ukrainian militants launched an unmanned vehicle toward the storage facility without any visual targeting equipment or payload, in an attempt to divert the electronic warfare system from the actual threat — the US-made assault drone, equipped with a cumulative warhead, which was intended to blow up the fuel depot.
Additionally, according to the agency, in the Kuybyshevsky District, a Ukrainian fixed-wing drone, equipped with an active blast charge containing destructive agents, was intercepted near an electric power facility.
FSB bomb disposal experts, using special technical means, disabled the drone’s control system and eliminated explosive objects on-site with a pressure charge.
