Russian Ivushka Ensemble performs in China’s Hainan

The artists also took part in flash mobs

HAIKOU /China/, June 24. /TASS/. The State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Tambov Region Ivushka performed two concerts in Haikou, the administrative center of South China's Hainan Province, Hainan Daily reported.

The series of events is supervised by the Chinese Association of International Friendly Contacts. Hainan's Department of Tourism, Culture, Broadcasting and Sports organized the concerts, and the Provincial Center for the Development of Modern International Tourism and Culture is responsible for their execution.

On June 22 and 23, Ivushka's many pieces were presented on the stage of the Hainan Performing Arts Center in Haikou, including Katyusha, Kak v etom domu (Like in this house), Tanets s poyasami (Dance with belts), Kalinka and many others. The artists also took part in flash mobs.

The concerts are dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. They are held in line with the rich program of cross-cultural years of the two countries, which are celebrated in China and the Russian Federation in 2024 and 2025.

After Haikou, the Russian ensemble's route will take them to the resort city of Sanya in the south of the island. The tour will end on June 27. These events, which combine tradition and modernity, are expected to give Hainan residents a deeper understanding of Russia's multifaceted and rich culture.
