VOLGOGRAD, February 2. /TASS/. Telling the truth is crucial in terms of covering Russia’s special military operation, particularly in movies, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with members of patriotic and youth organizations on Thursday.

"When covering the events of World War II, the Great Patriotic War and the special military operation, the truth and authenticity are crucial. This is our main weapon," he said in response to a question about patriotic filmmaking.

According to Putin, if well-made, high-quality and interesting movies are released that touch people’s souls, it is "a huge thing and a matter of great importance".
