Over 60% of Mariupol’s residences cannot be restored per early estimates — DPR head

According to Denis Pushilin, the new houses will be built in their place

MARIUPOL, May 18. /TASS/. Over 60% of Mariupol’s residential buildings are a total loss. This preliminary information was reported by DPR leader Denis Pushilin to journalists on Wednesday.

"The estimate is that over 60% houses have to be demolished with the new ones built. As for communications, the situation turned out to be not that sad. Specialists who are currently restoring water supply and other services are not that pessimistic as it seemed when we were first able to freely enter the city," the official said.

According to him, the seaside city of Mariupol "will be completely restored".
