Belarus selects 29 astronaut candidates to fly to ISS — Russian Space Agency

Steps to further select the candidates will be discussed on the sidelines of the exhibition "National Security. Belarus-2022" in Minsk

MOSCOW, June 21. /TASS/. Belarus has submitted the names of 29 astronaut candidates to be trained to fly to the International Space Station, Russia’s Space Agency said on Tuesday.

"On June 14, Belarus’s National Academy of Sciences presented a list of 29 candidates to fly to the International Space Station," the agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

Steps to further select the candidates will be discussed on the sidelines of the exhibition "National Security. Belarus-2022" in Minsk, according to the agency.

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to organize a spaceflight involving a Belarussian astronaut on April 12. The flight is set to take place next fall.
