Russia’s UN mission castigates Ukrainian attack on LPR hospital as war crime by Kiev, West

"There was no reaction to that from Western countries," says Russian diplomat

UNITED NATIONS, February 6. /TASS/. First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky on Monday said the shelling of a hospital in Novoaidar by Ukrainian forces constitutes a grave war crime, and the responsibility for it lies with the Kiev regime and the West.

"US-made multiple launch rocket system HIMARS on January 28 inflicted a targeted strike on a hospital in the town of Novoaidar in the Lugansk People’s Republic. As a result of this tragedy, 14 people were killed, another 24 suffered injuries of varying severity. Of course, there was no reaction to that from Western countries," he said in a speech at a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Ukraine. "The deliberate shelling of functioning civilian health care facilities and the deliberate killing of civilians are grave war crimes committed by the Kiev regime and its Western masters."

Former LPR’s ambassador to Russia Rodion Miroshnik said last week that Ukrainian forces had shelled four LPR hospitals since the start of the year. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has said it’s going to look into the circumstances of the Novoaidar hospital shelling.
