MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Europe's attempts to seize the agenda regarding Ukraine from Russia and the United States, currently in negotiations, are utterly futile, Maria Butina, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs and a representative of the United Russia party, told TASS.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the leaders of several European nations would convene in Paris on March 27 to discuss the situation in Ukraine. He referred to this meeting as a "summit of the willing" aimed at providing assistance to Kiev.
"Attempts to hijack the agenda from Washington and Moscow, who are currently engaged in negotiations, are entirely pointless. Economic dominance is not on their side at this moment," Butina stated.
She described Europe as "a school student who has not done his homework."
"They are once again trying to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. Perhaps the fates of Napoleon and Hitler have taught them nothing. Now they are planning new attempts to assert claims over Russia and Moscow, but to no avail. Russia has made its position clear: there can be no military contingent on Ukrainian territory," Butina added.
