MOSCOW, February 9. /TASS/. Cooperation between Russia and Britain is severely lacking, as the British side has destroyed almost the entire architecture of relations, Russia’s Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin said on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

"Relations are really close to nil. Whereas before we still had points of interaction in the economy and culture, now, since the beginning of the operation in Ukraine these ties were also cut off. The British side destroyed almost the entire architecture of relations between the two countries," he said.

Kelin also stressed that the Russian side would not take any steps to restore relations with London "until the British themselves realize the need for such steps."

Britain on Wednesday expanded its sanctions against Russia to blacklist eight individuals, six defense companies and the IT firm Moskomsvyaz.

According to the Foreign Office, since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, London has imposed sanctions on 1,300 Russian individuals and legal entities.
