Russia poised to counter attempts to undermine international stability — Lavrov

This was stated by the Minister in Mali

MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. Russia’s foreign policy is consistently aimed against unlawful acts that undermine global stability and principles of the international law, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.

"It is genuine pleasure to be here with the Russian delegation, among our friends and like-minded persons, who defend the ideals of justice jointly with us on the international arena," the minister said in Mali, while receiving the republic’s National Order of the Commander class of merit.

"Those ideals, the founding principles of the international law enshrined by the UN Charter, are being attacked more and more viciously lately. Russia’s position on the global arena, our foreign policy whose foundations are defined by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, is aimed at consistently countering such unlawful acts that undermine international stability and the world order based on the global organization’s Charter," reads the transcript of Lavrov’s speech, published by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Lavrov also expressed his genuine gratitude to the authorities of Mali for their decision to award him with the highest of the country’s honorific orders.
