Intensity of hostilities in Zaporozhye Region decreased noticeably, politician says

According to Vladimir Rogov, the decrease of activity on the Zaporozhye direction may be connected to relocation of reinforcements

MELITOPOL, February 2. /TASS/. The intensity of hostilities in the Zaporozhye Region has decreased noticeably compared to one week ago, as both sides are accumulating forces, says Vladimir Rogov, head of the "We are Together with Russia" movement.

"Both sides have entrenched, and entrenched well. The intensity has decreased significantly, when compared to the situation 3-5 days, let alone one week ago. There is constant reconnaissance going on; both sides prioritize reconnaissance and artillery duels. The enemy emphasizes fortification of positions inside cities, especially in Zaporozhye," he said.

According to Rogov, the decrease of activity on the Zaporozhye direction may be connected to relocation of reinforcements.

"I believe that, to a significant degree, both sides accumulate forces, pull reinforcements. In addition, the Zelensky regime carries out mobilization in order to compensate for shortage of personnel. There is a lot of them on our direction, but not enough for an offensive," Rogov explained.

The intensity of hostilities in the Zaporozhye Region has increased sharply in recent weeks. On January 20, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of the settlement of Lobkovoye. Later, Rogov said that Russian forces had advanced towards Gulyaypole and took control of several Ukrainian strongholds. Russian forces have also liberated the settlement of Kamenskoye 30 km away from the city of Zaporozhye.
