Several dozen more Russian Embassy employees to leave US by July 1 — ambassador

Anatoly Antonov noted that he had a useful and constructive meeting with new US Ambassador to Russia Lynn Tracy before she left for Moscow

MOSCOW, February 2. /TASS/. Several dozen more employees of the Russian Embassy will leave the United States by July 1, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said in an interview with Russia’s television Channel One.

"Late last year over 40 of our compatriots were forced to leave the United States, our employees, who were diplomats and administrative and technical staff. By July 1, several dozen more will leave the United States," he said.

Antonov noted that he had a useful and constructive meeting with new US Ambassador to Russia Lynn Tracy before she left for Moscow.

"Before she left [for Moscow], we told her about the problems, which the Russian diplomatic missions in the United States encounter," he continued.

"We voiced a number of proposals on how to make the work easier both for Americans and our diplomats in the United States," Antonov said.

"We hope that the American ambassador will quickly get settled in her new capacity and we will be able to continue negotiations about the formation of normal work conditions for our diplomats," the Russian ambassador added.
