Russian Security Council believes West won’t stop at shipping tanks to Ukraine

Nail Mukhitov noted that the Western practice of rabid Russophobia goes back centuries

MOSCOW, February 1. /TASS/. The West will not stop at sending tanks to Ukraine, Russian Security Council Secretary Aide Nail Mukhitov said in an interview for Rossiyskaya Gazeta Wednesday.

"I believe that the West will not stop at sending tanks to Ukraine. Meanwhile, Germany, for example, which is sending its tanks to Ukraine, forgets how the Third Reich’s plans ended in May of 1945. Some politicians in Paris also suffer from amnesia, as they forget how the Russian campaign ended in 1812," he noted, commenting on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s request for the shipment of aviation, missiles and other equipment.

At that, Mukhitov noted that the Western practice of rabid Russophobia goes back centuries, because they prefer not to remember about aid from Russia.

"Although Americans, for the preservation of their statehood, should be grateful to us. During the American Revolution, King George III contacted Catherine the Great twice asking for aid to thwart the uprising in the American colonies. Russia decided against supporting England in its fight with Washington," he said, providing other examples of Moscow’s aid as well.

In particular, the official noted, "in the late 1980s, Moscow facilitated the reunification of the two Germanies, under the sole precondition that NATO not expand eastward.".
