Russian forces making quick work of Ukrainian sorties in Zaporozhye Region — politician

Earlier on Tuesday, Rogov said that a Ukrainian special operations team attempted to break through in the Zaporozhye Region, but Russian forces detected it, using a drone, equipped with a thermal camera, which made it possible to promptly eliminate the group

MELITOPOL, February 1. /TASS/. Ukrainian saboteurs’ attempts to break through along the Zaporozhye direction are now being thwarted faster and more effectively thanks to increasing use of means of operational control and technical capabilities, says Vladimir Rogov, head of the "We are Together with Russia" movement.

"Reconnaissance and sabotage groups do make attempts, but, thank god, due to the ever-increasing use of means of operational control and technical capabilities, such as drones, thermal vision and other things, we manage to get them faster and more effectively," he told TASS Wednesday.

Earlier on Tuesday, Rogov said that a Ukrainian special operations team attempted to break through in the Zaporozhye Region, but Russian forces detected it, using a Mavic drone, equipped with a thermal camera, which made it possible to promptly eliminate the group. According to Rogov, the group included up to 10 people, only one of them survived and managed to escape. This was an attempt of battle reconnaissance in a bid to understand how well Russian forces had entrenched themselves in the area.

The intensity of hostilities in the Zaporozhye Region has increased sharply in recent weeks. On January 20, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of the settlement of Lobkovoye. Later, Rogov said that Russian forces had advanced towards Gulyaypole and took control of several Ukrainian strongholds.
