MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Moscow will treat the French media active in Russia the same way the Russian media are treated in France, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Thursday.

"We have warned many times. Now the period of warnings is over and a new period has begun when we will give tit-for-tat responses to France in this regard," she said.

Zakharova explained that Russia had to make such a decision after reporters from RT and Sputnik had been denied access to numerous events taking place in France. In particular, they were denied accreditation to a meeting of the Russian-French forum dubbed the Trianon Dialogue in early April.
