Death toll from earthquakes in Turkey exceeds 2,300 — authorities

More than 13,200 people were injured

ANKARA, February 6. /TASS/. The death toll from the devastating earthquakes in southeastern Turkey has exceeded 2,300, more than 13,200 people have been injured, Orhan Tatar, head of the Earthquake and Risk Reduction Department of the Emergency Management Agency (AFAD), said on Monday.

"As of now, the death toll is 2,316. As many as 13,293 people have been hurt. A total of 3,471 buildings have been destroyed" he told a local TV station.
