Mongolian PM complains of blow from Western restrictions on Russia

Among other things, there are problems connected with payment for fuel that his country imports from Russia and disruption of some products Mongolia used to buy from its Russian partners

MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. The West’s anti-Russian sanctions have hurt Mongolia’s economy, its Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyun-Erdene told the Financial Times.

"Mongolia is <…> also under pressure because of the sanctions imposed on Russia," the Mongolian PM told the British newspaper as he described the restrictions as "a double sanction" on his country.

First of all, navigation fees which were paid by airlines that once operated Europe-Asia routes through Russia’s airspace have dissipated for Mongolia, the head of government lamented. According to him, many European airlines have been forced to fly either over the North Pole or across Central Asia and Turkey amid Russian retaliatory airspace bans.

Among other things, the Mongolian premier complained of issues associated with payment for fuel that his country imports from Russia and disruption of some products Mongolia used to buy from its Russian partners.
